THAOVY

THAOVY is a first-generation Vietnamese-American singer-songwriter based in the Midwest.

Music has been a part of her life since she was young. THAOVY moved to America when she was 5 and struggled to relate to her friends because she couldn't speak English. It was her first music class that changed her perspective on language altogether. She couldn’t speak to them, but she could connect through shared melodies and RHYTHM.

At 16, she almost auditioned for The Voice, but cyber-bullying convinced her she wasn’t good enough, and she let the idea go. At 19, she became a single mother and went back to college to learn about marketing. After graduating with her business degree, she opened an art shop and ran it for four years — creative work, but it still wasn’t what she loved. At the end of 2024, she closed it, and finally gave music the love and attention it had been waiting on since that second grade classroom.

Now, THAOVY writes and releases music as an independent artist — still saying all things that words just can’t.
